About Dr. Hendrickson
I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in West Chester since 2002. In addition to my private practice experience, I also draw on 18 years of knowledge and experience as a clinical faculty member in the department of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.
I specialize in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), a research supported therapy for treating a wide range of problems. I have achieved the designation of Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician. Beck Institute training and certification represents the highest level of excellence in the delivery of CBT worldwide. In addition, I am certified as a CBT clinician by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. CBT is focused on present struggles with a problem-solving orientation. Clients learn how to change negative thinking patterns and behaviors that have held them back for years. They learn specific skills they can use for the rest of their lives.
I am a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, NBC-HWC. As an expert in behavior change, Certified at Duke Integrative Medicine, I practice Integrative Health Coaching at Health & Wellness Coaching for Change. Integrative Health Coaching (IHC) empowers you to make lasting health behavior changes that are the cornerstones of lifelong well-being. It bridges the gap between medical recommendations and your abilities to successfully implement those recommendations into your complex life.¹
I carefully tailor counseling sessions to meet the needs of each person or couple drawing on current research and trends in the field including: positive psychology, motivational interviewing, compassion focused therapy, mindfulness training, and health & wellness coaching. I help individuals and couples move along the change continuum to meet personal, relationship, and work life goals.
